The foundation's name was inspired by Joseph's childhood fascination with ravens, which he encountered during a trip to London. This fascination grew into a symbol of resilience and hope, as ravens are known to fly swiftly through adversity, leaving behind a single feather as a promise of hope.

Yes. The Black Feather Foundation was founded by Joseph E. Robert III, a Marine Corps veteran. While not all members are veterans, all come from military families and share a commitment to freedom and integrity -- values instilled by the U.S. Armed Forces.
